BNS and COVID 19 Update March 17th
On Monday, March 16th, the Baseball Nova Scotia Board of Directors convened via conference call to discuss next steps for the organization.
As we have learned over the past week, the COVID-19 containment situation evolves by the hour. While we are committed to conducting our programming as soon as safely possible, BNS highly recommends all member associations respect the recommendations of the government, and cancel all in person activities until at least April 6th.
While Baseball Nova Scotia understands the delays this shut down is causing to association’s registrations, try outs, and other baseball related activities, there are no plans to delay the season at this current time. The Board will reconvene, and provide an update to membership by April 3rd, 2020 (at the latest) Depending on the recommendations of the government, Sport Nova Scotia, and other key stakeholders, further measures may need to be taken at that time. This may include alterations to the calendar of events, and other adaptations to programming.
Baseball Nova Scotia believes the safety of our athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers is the number one priority. We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure the 2020 season is still a positive and enjoyable experience for our members across the province.
Please see below for March 15th Update.
