Generally speaking, no. The majority of female baseball programming across the province emphasizes girls' development within the sport over competition. This being said, there are associations that also offer programs that compete/train at a higher level. For specifics on the levels of programming offered, refer to your associations' website, or reach out to them directly.
This will vary depending on association/team. Teams are able to register for half or full schedules in the Bluenose League, with half schedules typically being 10-12 games through the summer, and full schedules being 20-24 games, with all teams attending Provincial Championships at the end of the season. Typically, teams will also train/practice together throughout the summer and may attend other tournaments/events. As commitment levels may vary widely from association to association and team to team, please refer to the associations website or reach out to them directly for this info.
If you are unsure of what association may operate in your area, please visit our Club Information page. The interactive BNS Member Association Map allows you to easily see which association(s) you fall into based on your home address.
You are free to register for the nearest association to you that offers a girls program should your 'home association' not offer one. Should no association within a reasonable distance to you offer girls' programming, feel free to look into what co-ed programming they may offer, or reach out to them to discuss what events or other offerings they may have, or may be interested in having, for girls in baseball.
Keep an eye on the Female Baseball page on our site for a wide variety of opportunities for girls in baseball. It is updated throughout the season as more offerings become available. Be sure to continue watching this page as well as your local association's site as more registrations open up through the winter and spring!
